2026 ENDORSEMENTS
The Central Contra Costa County Democratic Club is proud to announce our endorsements for Concord City Council for the 2026 General Election.
Laura Hoffmeister
Concord City Council, District 1
Laura Hoffmeister grew up in Concord and has devoted decades to serving her hometown. She has served seven times as mayor and brings extensive experience in transportation, infrastructure, youth programs, and regional leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree in city and environmental planning from UC Davis, with a minor in environmental geology. A longtime supporter of veterans and the Concord Historical Society, Laura is seeking another term focused on repairing streets, keeping neighborhoods safe, maintaining parks and playgrounds, and supporting services for seniors and young people.
Douglas Lezameta
Concord City Council, District 3
Douglas Lezameta was born and raised in Peru and came to the United States more than 20 years ago seeking opportunity. Starting with a job cleaning offices, he learned English and built a career in hospitality, advancing from server to regional director. He later established a company supporting children with neurodivergent conditions and their families. Contra Costa County is where he has raised his family, built businesses, and served his community. Inspired by his father’s example, Douglas believes that opportunity carries a responsibility to give back.
Ayesha Corio
Concord City Council, District 5
Aeysha Corio is a Concord Planning Commissioner, small business owner, mother of four, and grandmother of two. Her community service began with the Concord Community Institute and continued through the Concord Pavilion Community Outreach Committee and Planning Commission. She has held leadership roles with the John Muir Community Health Fund and helped raise funds for Cancer Support Community San Francisco Bay Area. Aeysha is running to bring practical problem solving, responsive leadership, and a focus on public safety and responsible growth to City Hall.

A draft of our new logo was accidentally released which seemed to imply that the endorsements are that of the Democratic Party. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
Our Executive Board
Our Executive Board manages the new club. They are tasked with growing the organization as well as meeting our mission and goals. The current board was elected in June 2025 and will serve until January 2027.
Pablo Benavente
President
Pablo currently serves on the Concord City Council representing District 4. He and his husband live in Concord with their daughter.
May Patel
Vice-President
May serves as a Planning Commissioner for the city of Concord and recently graduated in the 2025 class for Emerge California. She lives in Concord with her family.
Tim McGallian
Controller
Tim is a former city councilman and Mayor of Concord and works as a State Farm Agent. He lives in Concord with his wife and children.
Victor Benedict-Tiglao
Secretary
Victor is a commissioner and chair of the Contra Costa Economic Opportunity Council and serves on the board for Monument Impact. He lives in Concord.
